Deputy Director, Evidence and Learning Practice IRI, District of Columbia, United States
IRI’s presentation will focus on the lessons learned from integrating storytelling into IRI’s organization-wide results frameworks. In the past two years, IRI has developed results frameworks to achieve three goals: 1) to more systematically design, monitor, and evaluate programs; 2) to encourage results-based management across the organization; 3) to clarify and test our implicit theories of change. IRI will share lessons learned from incorporating storytelling into this initiative to encourage staff and other stakeholders to submit, view and make sense of individual stories of results from their programs. The presenters will also discuss strategies and lessons learned on how to develop results frameworks that are generalizable to different types of programs, while being detailed enough to be a useful tool for planning for and tracking results of individual programs; and how to ensure the results frameworks remain living documents that guide - not constrain - organizational programming and MEL efforts
