Kasey is a young professional Trinbagonian specializing in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). His background in Environmental and Natural Resource Management from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad, and, Ecology, from Massey University, New Zealand provided experiences in research design, analysis, and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) especially during part-time work with Massey University Freshwater Consultancy.
Since 2011, he's been an integral part of the M&E field within the Government of Trinidad and Tobago with the serendipitous journey beginning at the National Transformation Unit (formerly Vision 2020 Unit, inspired by the Nudge Unit, UK) under the Ministry of Planning and Development, which shaped his expertise in Results-Based Management (RBM) and Managing for Development Results (MfDR). Over nearly a decade, he advocated and contributed to groundbreaking initiatives such as the country's inaugural National Performance Framework (NPF), innovative training materials like Explainer Videos, Annual Reports with more visual aesthetics and the Indicator Performance Index (IPI) methodology.
Kasey's diverse interests also led him to explore art and design through Studio 66, where he discovered a passion for Data Visualization and Engaging Reporting. Transitioning to the non-government sector in 2022 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, he joined IAMovement—the lead climate and environmental advocacy organization—as a consulting M&E specialist. He now oversees all project M&E and serves as the Creative Director on the organization's Board. His efforts at IAMovement, notably the 'Building on Vetiver!' project, helped the team earned recognition from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) - Superheroes of Development 2022 Awards.
Kasey's current endeavours include the development of an interdisciplinary platform combining Art, Environment, and Evaluation, along with incorporating machine learning to enhance local M&E and government performance. With a unique blend of ecological insight, M&E proficiency, and artistic flair, Kasey Gordon exemplifies dedication to sustainable development and impactful change.
