Health Scientist Evaluator

Monica Mendez Morello, MPH, MA is a Health Scientist in Program Evaluation at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Prevention Research Centers (PRC) Program. She currently leads the Evaluation Team’s current cycle evaluation planning. Monica has broad experience with program evaluation across multiple public health programs and topic areas, including developing evaluation plans and measures in an academic research setting, creating program evaluation plans for specific public health projects, and managing performance evaluation objectives and measures for national-level public health programs.
Prior to joining the PRC Program, Monica worked in CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR), where she led and supported a variety of center-wide policy, performance, and evaluation initiatives. Monica served as the performance and evaluation lead for the NCEH/ATSDR Office of Policy, Planning, and Partnerships, and coordinated multiple high-level policy and evaluation processes, projects, and convenings.
Monica has a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Georgia, and an MPH in Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences and an MA in Latin American Studies from San Diego State University.
