Kathryn Grogan is a Senior Research Associate at WestEd who designs and directs research and evaluation projects with a focus on early literacy. Trained as a developmental psychologist, Dr. Grogan has extensive experience providing statistical and technical assistance. Dr. Grogan is currently serving as the Principal Investigator of a multi-year evaluation of the state of Colorado’s READ Act, a statewide initiative to improve outcomes for struggling readers. Other recent projects include an evaluation of a Department of Education National Professional Development grant, an evaluation of a National Science Foundation Hispanic-Serving Institutions program grant, and leading literacy-centered partnerships and projects in Alaska and Oregon for the Regional Education Lab Northwest.
