Jacey Greece, DSc, MPH, is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) where she teaches courses in health behavior theory, intervention planning, health communications, and epidemiology. Her professional and research interests are rooted in healthy eating, food access and security, childhood obesity, community-based interventions, behavioral epidemiology, monitoring and surveillance, and program evaluation. She applies many field-based concepts to the classes she teaches.
Dr. Greece is currently the evaluator for multiple grants focused on provider training and education including for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Health Resources and Services Administration as well as the evaluator for a few community-based programs focused on environmental approaches to hunger, opioid overdose, and mental health and COVID-19. Previously, Dr. Greece has evaluated a number of public health programs to help improve the quality of life of individuals and families in underserved areas. Dr. Greece has conducted national and local evaluations for a variety of agencies including the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration and Administration for Children and Families, Department of Health and Human Services; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Food and Nutrition Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture; the Hood Foundation; and, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. In addition, she has worked on a number of research projects for the National Institutes of Health.
In her teaching, Dr. Greece emphasizes field-based consultancy and applied opportunities and co-developed the PBT STEPS Framework for practice-based teaching (PBT), which has been widely published and employed in various classroom settings and disciplines. She developed the Collaborate.Health website for PBT.
A graduate of Tufts University, Dr. Greece received her Master of Public Health in Social and Behavioral Sciences and Doctorate of Science in Epidemiology from BUSPH.
