Jasmine R. Owens, MPH is a Health Scientist (Evaluator) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center on Injury Prevention and Control where she leads evaluation and technical assistance to states implementing overdose prevention initiatives. She previously served as a Health Scientist in CDC’s National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental disabilities where she led evaluation activities with CDC staff and federally funded programs focused on fetal alcohol spectrum disorders and the prevention of substance use during pregnancy. She has built a public health career in the federal government addressing topics that affect women, children, and people with disabilities including overdose prevention, chronic diseases, preconception health and heath care, emergency preparedness, folic acid, and COVID-19.
Mrs. Owens holds a Master of Public Health degree with dual concentrations in Behavioral Science and Health Education from Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College.
