Samuel Ikendi. Samuel holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension Education (Iowa State University, 2022); a Master of Science in Sustainable Agriculture and a Master of Community and Regional Planning (Iowa State University, 2019); and a Bachelor of Agribusiness Management (Makerere University, Kampala Uganda, 2011). Samuel is currently an Academic Coordinator for Climate Smart Agriculture Programs with the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources and is also affiliated with the University of California Merced.
Our project in California is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and National Insititute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) for a period of 2022-2027. We are developing and disseminating multifaceted pathways to climate-smart agriculture through stakeholders’ needs assessments; climate-smart agriculture training for technical service providers; regional workshops for farmers and ranchers; and student education with Extension service-learning opportunities across Califonia.
During his graduate school at Iowa State University, Samuel served as a Programs Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for the Center for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods based at Iowa State University in the United States. The Center has implemented livelihood education programs to end hunger in Uganda since 2003 in a trio partnership with Iowa State University Uganda Program, and Makerere University.
