Emily Bango (she/her/hers), is the Regional Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Manager for the Americas region at Internews, an international nonprofit that works with media and civil society to build healthy information environments. Emily’s portfolio covers the entire region - North and South America, Mexico and Central America, and the Caribbean. She has over 13 years of experience in the international human rights and freedom of expression space, including work at several nonprofit organizations and at the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) at the U.S. Department of State. She holds a master’s degree in public management from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester.
