MEL Director
Chemonics UK, Vastra Gotaland, Sweden
Niki Wood is a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) specialist, and systems-thinking enthusiast, working as the MEL Director for Chemonics International's UK Business Line. In this role she manages the MEL team, Chemonics' portfolio of MEL work, and spearheads capacity building, learning, and thought leadership endeavours.
Niki specialises in participatory and systems-based approaches, and is particularly interested in behaviour change and how it can ripple through, or broadly affect, a system. She is passionate about human-centred approaches to evaluation and MEL, in particular trauma-informed methodologies, and how to adapt evaluative engagement and findings dissemination to suit the needs of those being engaged. She particularly enjoys developing colourful analogies and inclusive approaches that de-mystify the MEL world to programme teams, whilst still maintaining a robust (but intuitive) approach to evidencing change.
Niki has worked internationally, covering East Africa, West Africa, Central Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the Western Balkans with particular focus on the democracy and governance and conflict and stabilisation sectors.
