Alisha Garcia Flores is a youth advocate with over 18 years of experience developing youth and family support programs as well as leading staff in building structures and tools for continuous learning and quality assurance. She is the current Director of Evaluation and Data at Enlace Chicago in the Little Village (La Villita) community. Alisha is passionate about participatory, asset-based, and culturally responsive approaches to community development. She believes in using evaluation as a tool for social justice and systems changes that promotes opportunities and advancement of marginalized groups of people. Her experience includes contributions to community-based development and evaluation initiatives such as: the New Communities Program (LISC), 21st Century Community Learning Programs, and the Illinois State-wide Afterschool standards/assessments. Alisha holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Management from Central Michigan University and a Master’s in Urban Planning and Policy from University of Illinois at Chicago. She also has certifications in teaching English (TEFL) and in Youth Development (YPQI) as a methods trainer and external assessor. She enjoys attending community events and beach time with her husband Miguel and two sons Miguelito and Mateo.
