Worked for 15 years on urban community development in Latin America and then for 20 years with the World Bank working on gender and development, urban research and coordinating evaluation training in Africa and Asia. Since retiring I have consulted with UN agencies, multilaterals and bilaterals and NGOs on the evaluation of development programs. Recent publications include: "Dealing with complexity in development evaluation", RealWorld Evaluation: working under buidget, time, data and political constraints.", and "Evaluating complex development programs". and "Measuring reaults and impact in the age of big data: the nexus of evaluation, analytics and digital technology".
