Dr. Gert V. Balling is Senior Impact Partner at the Novo Nordisk Foundation (DK) since 2014.
He is responsible for the implementation and continuous development of impact assessment, presentation of impact results to internal and external stakeholders as well as international impact collaborations and partnerships.
He is a appointed co-chair of the London based international Research on Research Institute (RoRI), and member of the Interfolio Strategic Committee for Researchfish (a US/UK company annually tracking outcomes on 100,000 research grants worldwide). Gert Balling was selected as school co-director
for The International School of Research Impact Assessment in 2017 and member of the organizing committee behind the international symposium "In the Trenches: Research Translation For Health Impact" at University of Oxford 2018.
Gert holds an MA from Copenhagen University and Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany and a cross disciplinary PhD from the IT University of Copenhagen (DK) & UCLA (US). He also has a Certificate in Business Administration and has an international Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) accreditation.
Job background in technology transfer, evaluation and organization build-up on a national and international scale, and has on more occasions acted as an independent expert in European Commission Expert Groups on commercialisation of research results.
In the spare time Gert is also active in outreach activities and has received more national and international nominations and awards for science dissemination projects.
