Toyin Anderson is a parent leader and a mother of three from Rochester New York, she is currently a parent leader facilitator with the Greater Rochester Health Foundation and National Parent Leadership Institute, working on the Healthy and Equitable Futures Initiative. She is on the Parent Engagement Collaborative Action Network (PECAN) leadership team, a board member of Prevent Child Abuse NY (PCANY) and The Children’s Agenda (TCA). She is also a founding and governance council member for the United Parent Leaders Action Network (UPLAN). She is also a child passenger safety technician. She was the parent representative for the Excellence in Student Achievement Committee on the Rochester board of education. A graduate of the Parent Leadership Training Institute and the African American Leadership Development Program. She is a coalition member with Common Grounds. She is a home visitor, and works for Action for a Better Community. She is a parent consultant with the Whole Child Initiative. She is a member of the Parent Advisory Council for Family Math. She works diligently helping children and families better their lives. She does this by engaging the community and helping families learn how to advocate for the changes they want to make and see implemented in their schools and communities. She understands the importance of having parents at every table that is having conversations that will impact the lives of families. She knows that for any space that hasn't embraced this yet, as a change agent, she is required to help facilitate and help make the changes needed. She also believes that parents know what is best for their families. Parents are experts!
