Mr. Anderson is a seasoned monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) expert with nearly 20 years of experience formulating MEL guidance and strengthening U.S. agencies' MEL systems used by U.S. government agencies to generate and use evidence essential for multi-year strategic planning, project planning and implementation, and adaptive management. His technical areas of focus frequently are cross-cutting in nature and have included, for example, HIV/AIDS, economic development, civil society strengthening, country ownership, workforce development, community-based crime and violence prevention, and migration. He is experienced in collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including agency leadership and external counterparts, to formulate MEL technical guidance, provide expert advice, and present briefings and reports on complex issues. In 2019, the LAC MEL Peer Network, which Mr. Anderson conceptualized and has striven to cultivate, received recognition as one of only 10 winners in USAID’s annual Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) Case Competition. Mr. Anderson has field experience in 20+ countries, primarily in Latin America and the Caribbean and sub-Saharan Africa.
