Dharmendra is a development management professional with 23 years of experience in design, implementation, and evaluation of development interventions in Global South. He is co-founder of Sambodhi Research & Communications- evaluation thought and practice leaders in India.
Dharmendra's particular interest is identifying and incubating emerging methodologies and designs relevant to Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management and Research. Dharmendra is a student of equity, equity measurement, and inclusion and is passionate about evaluation field building, especially developing the capabilities of practitioners on evaluation and evidence use.
Dharmendra has led the conceptualization, development, and implementation of more than 20 practice-focused and cost-effective training modules on various aspects of project design, monitoring, evaluation, and data analytics on which more than 8000 development professionals have been trained across South Asia, East Asia, and West Africa. A thought leader in the measurement, learning and evaluation landscape, Dharmendra has led multidisciplinary teams in around 50 evaluation projects in India using a multitude of evaluation designs and approaches. Dharmendra co-authored books on monitoring and evaluation as well and published articles in peer-reviewed journals. A management graduate, Dharmendra also holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.
