Sarah Dodoo is a third-year Ph.D. student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in Human Development and Family Studies. Her research centers on Out-of-School-Time (OST) programs, which encompass afterschool initiatives and summer camps. Sarah is dedicated to understanding how these programs can be designed, implemented, and evaluated to yield positive outcomes for youth participants.
As a Graduate Student Researcher at the Education Research and Outreach Laboratory within the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, Sarah explores OST program models that incorporate experiential learning, aiming to enhance engagement and create meaningful learning experiences for youth participants in both rural and urban environments.
Motivated by a commitment to advancing translational research, Sarah aspires to become a research professor and practicing evaluator. She seeks to leverage evidence-based approaches to improve OST programs for the benefit of youth and the communities they serve.
