Arianna is originally from small town, Opp, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a bachelor’s degree in public health and a Master of Public Health degree. She is currently a Health Scientist in the Prevention Practice and Translation Branch (PPTB) in the Division of Violence Prevention (DVP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Her primary role is to provide guidance on the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities for the Rape Prevention and Education Initiative (RPE). Prior to becoming a Health Scientist for RPE, Arianna supported cross-program evaluation activities with the cross-initiative evaluation team in PPTB.
Her public health career began in 2017 with ConnectionHealth, a non- profit organization that trains and employs Community Health Workers to address poor health outcomes related to chronic diseases and Maternity and Child Health within Jefferson County and across the Black Belt. Her work specifically focused on program evaluation and health education.
In 2020, she joined the Institute of Cancer Outcomes and Survivorship (ICOS) as a clinical research assistant. During her time at ICOS, she spearheaded the recruitment and retention activities for the Blood or Marrow Transplant Long-Term Follow-Up Study. She is very passionate about public health work and enjoys connecting with communities.
In her personal life, she is married to a passionate musician, math educator, and football enthusiast (Roll Tide), Benjamin Brooks. They enjoy listening to live music, watching sports, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.
