I am Arshee Rizvi, a young and emerging evaluator from India working professionally as a data science officer at India's massive open online course platform, NPTEL, which has the world's largest data repository. I handle the data for the IIT Madras BS degree program in data science and application. I am an engineer with a bachelor's degree in Electronics and instrumentation engineering who diverged into the development sector for her master's degree from IIT Bombay in Technology and Development. Here, I was introduced to evaluation as a field and started volunteering for EvalYouth India. Working as a Business analyst in a corporation in my first job, I started to draw parallels between concepts I had studied in monitoring and evaluation and what I was doing daily. In the future, I want to work with Civil Society Organisations to improve their data collection and analysis abilities to effectively monitor and evaluate their projects. I also conduct sessions for capacity building of young professionals for seeking jobs in data analysis/ data science fields and for better data collection and triangulation using mobile-based survey systems.
