Donna M. Mertens, PhD, is Professor Emeritus at Gallaudet University in Washington DC. She has authored many methodological books and articles on transformative evaluation, two of which are best sellers: Program Evaluation Theory and Practice, and Research and Evaluation in Education and Psychology. Her newest book is Mixed Methods Research. Her writings focus on the assumptions that underlie methodological decisions when the goal of the research is to increase social, economic, and environmental justice.
