Abstract Information: As we no longer have the pandemic as an excuse to hide under, it's time to face the challenge of balancing multiple roles and identities in our personal and professional lives. Join a lively presentation that explores unconventional tips and strategies for managing panic and procrastination. Geared towards new evaluators, graduate students, and anyone juggling multiple responsibilities, this session will provide practical advice for maintaining social and emotional well-being in an unstable world. We'll go beyond shallow self-care ideas and examine how to start healing and building resilience, so we can be truly present in the movement.
Relevance Statement: This Ignite session is relevant to evaluators because our ability to serve our clients and communities is hindered when we struggle to manage our own social and emotional well-being. It delves beyond surface-level self-care practices to examine the deeper traumas that may impede our ability to show up as our most authentic, healthy, and fulfilled selves. The presentation emphasizes the importance of understanding how our body holds and releases stress, the impact of unexamined pain, and the need for self-awareness in order to achieve well-being in our professional lives. By integrating this reflexivity into our approach to work, we can show up more fully to support our clients and colleagues. References Van der Kolk, B. A. (2015).
