50 - Visualizing the Voices: Transforming Qualitative Interview Data into Data Visualizations with Accessible Tools

Abstract Information: Qualitative data offer rich nuance and depth to our work as evaluators but are often challenging to incorporate into data visualizations. In our effort to portray qualitative data beyond a text narrative, our team used accessible tools (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint and the online graphic design tool, Canva) to create visually appealing representations of data from interviews conducted with school districts/consortia about adolescent health programs. These visualizations were disseminated to school district partners and funders through a concise two-page summary and a more detailed visually dynamic report. We have outlined our process for creating qualitative data visualizations using tools already available to many evaluators. Evaluators can explore how this project used accessible tools to develop data visualizations and convey qualitative findings.
