Abstract Information: The think tank event "Powerful Stories of Lived Experience: How to Contextualize Evaluation Narratives" aims to explore innovative approaches to evaluation narratives that center on the lived experiences of program beneficiaries. The event will begin with an orientation by the chairperson, who will provide relevant contextual factors and highlight the importance of contextualizing evaluation narratives. Attendees will then break into small groups to explore the question of how to incorporate diverse perspectives and contextual factors into evaluation narratives. Each group will be tasked with identifying key challenges and opportunities associated with this approach and developing practical strategies for incorporating lived experience into evaluation narratives. During the final session, attendees will reconvene to share their enhanced understanding through a facilitated discussion led by the chairperson. The session will focus on synthesizing the insights gained from the breakout groups and identifying potential next steps for incorporating lived experience into evaluation narratives. This think tank seeks to provide a forum for exploring new ideas and approaches to evaluation narratives that prioritize lived experience and contextual factors. The breakout groups will play a critical role in identifying practical strategies and developing a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with this question. By incorporating diverse perspectives and contextual factors into the narratives we share in evaluation stories, we can generate more nuanced learning for adaptive management that contribute to more effective and impactful programs.
