Abstract Information: Crises- including lack of funding opportunities, lack of in-depth knowledge on literary research, nepotism, political issues, lack of primary and secondary materials, lack of taking an active part in participating international conferences, symposiums, round table talks, workshops, lack of organizing literary debates, festivals and international conferences, literary cultural barriers, financial constraints, length of time, lack of visiting internationally reputed libraries, psychological conflicts, egoistically prestige hampering, familial clashes between husbands and wives, and above all, unavailability of supervisors, - are very much practical concerns among emerging scholars in Bangladeshi educational institutions. In this regard, to investigate these barriers to conducting English literary research, the current researcher assures the fact that no research work had been done before in this field though prevalent challenges are deemed as much discussed and debatable issues throughout the country. Therefore, this project seeks to emphasize literary research crises among younger scholars and researchers to create awareness in a developing country, like Bangladesh. The project writer also thinks that this literary research work will certainly create a novel dimension in the field of English literature.
Relevance Statement: Both MPhil and PhD research are common at universities in Bangladesh known as higher education. Universities mainly produce and distribute knowledge. Emerging scholars’ main pursuit is to study a lot. For this, they have to have an inquisitive mind. In the current 21st century, the demand for research in the light of the society, state and environment is getting increased. Although research is not recognized as a profession, there is no doubt that it is a strong desire. It is the precious wealth of country and the nation, the pride of the nation. Emerging scholars will not think about all the things in the world, but will bring out accurate results from the beginning of the thing he thinks about. They instil strength and courage in country and nation-building with research findings and inspire enthusiasm to transform the state into a modern welfare state. So, research works directly or indirectly contribute to national life, especially in patriotism, good citizenship and an exploitation-free society. It has been more than forty-eight years since Bangladesh became independent. But even after so many years of independence, no matter what anyone calls the overall research index or wheel of Bangladesh, its speed or rate of progress is quite disappointing. There is no alternative to own innovation or research behind the socio-economic development of any country. If it is looked at the socio-economically developed countries of the Asian region, it can be seen that they have taken the local government and private initiatives in the research sector, as well as they have focused on creating skilled manpower for research. It is said that the main reason behind the research crisis in Bangladesh is various obstacles or crises in the recruitment of talented people who will conduct research. At the government level, research is done mainly at universities and government research institutes to some extent. Because of this, for those who want to do research in the real sense, there is no other option than these institutes. But unfortunately, the recruitment process of these research institutes is quite questionable due to various reasons. Corruption, politics, employment trade, nepotism, and regionalism are not here. Still, there are few talented people in these institutions and sometimes they get some jobs. When these few talented people see that there is no allocation for their research in their institutions or even if it is very insufficient. Also, the amount of various research grants that the government provides through application at different times, the number of applicants is very high. Without research, no nation can properly know about itself. Getting confused about what to do in the situation that arises. Bangladesh is struggling from the beginning due to the lack of research or prior planning. Whatever the case, it needs to be mentioned here that the crises of English literary research among emerging scholars beggar description. What scholars face at universities while conducting research projects, or confronting research project plans cannot be denied.
