This presentation will discuss how the strategic planning process for one state resulted in renewed momentum within their cancer coalition. This process involved utilizing partnerships within a large, engaged coalition to build infrastructure and supports to sustain the implementation of cancer plan goals. As a result of the strategic planning process and the stories shared during it, the coalition changed their structure to expand the number of workgroups and ensure everyone interested in addressing cancer in their state could find a group focused on addressing their content area of interest. The final plan also reflects this new coalition structure. Engaging stakeholders and sharing stories throughout the planning process reached numerous individuals who became newly involved in the coalition. Knowing the context of this program and coalition allowed the revision process to be responsive to the need for a new structure and incorporate the strengths and capacities of partners.
