Dr. Leonchuk's presentation will review her experiences in supporting program implementation and evaluation efforts at the U.S. National Institutes of Health for facilitating the commercialization of biomedical technologies, focusing on recent efforts to reach a more diverse population of aspiring innovators. She will note how data policies and structures impose constraints on the analytical methods available to assess the extent of disparities in innovation support, and how those issues affect current initiatives to provide targeted outreach and encouragement to populations that have been excluded historically from the U.S. biomedical innovation ecosystem.
