Chief Executive Officer ROI Institute, United States
Dr. Patti Phillips will describe the use of stories in her work with the ROI Institute. A good story must have an impact. So often, we communicate the value of our investments to executives through stories. And while we are proud to share the success of our programs, one probing question almost always surfaces: "Do you have actual data?" Data, while important, can be lackluster and uninformative without content and context. Fortunately, the ROI Methodology® provides a framework for categorizing, collecting, analyzing, and reporting six types of data (reaction, learning, application, impact, ROI, and intangibles). This framework presents a profile of success with a balanced set of data (qualitative and quantitative) often collected at different timeframes from different sources. Designing your story by including numbers and narrative is an effective way to deliver results, engage your audience, and drive process improvement.
