Engaging Youth and Young Adults As Researchers, Creating Measures of Wellbeing For and With Their Communities

What are the implications of engaging young people in defining, measuring, and creating well-being solutions in their communities? The discussant will situate this work in the broader field of youth participatory action research and youth participatory evaluation and invite the audience to consider how this work can radically transform our methods for understanding wellbeing and how we promote it. She will call into question the assumption that outside researchers and evaluators can effectively tell the stories of Latine, Black and American Indian, and Alaskan Native well-being in an effort to create interventions for those communities.
